 PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR

Dr. Basuraj Bhowmik 

Basuraj is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology - Banaras Hindu University (IIT-BHU). He received his Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati and graduated from the National Institute of Technology Agartala with a B.Tech in Civil Engineering. Dr. Bhowmik was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at University College Dublin, Ireland. He worked with Siemens Power and Gas as a Senior Executive in the area of vibration-based condition monitoring of gas turbines. 

Basuraj actively works in the area of renewable energy system downtime detection, with a special emphasis on wind turbines. His Scholar profile can be accessed here. He is involved in developing computationally effective real-time algorithms for structural health monitoring and exploring new methodologies for data assimilation of complex systems – ranging across civil, mechanical, and aerospace systems – with a focus on sparse sensor data analytics, machine-learning algorithms, and online modal identification. His awards include the Best Reviewer Award at CTCS 2022 and the prestigious MILCA Award for Academics by the Confederation of Indian Industries. He is also an international award recipient of the coveted Research Excellence Award at the Annual MaREI Symposium, in Ireland.

Anshu has completed her Masters from MBM University, Jodhpur with excellent grades. She will be working in Structural Health Monitoring.

Mr. Raj Singh

Raj completed his Bachelors from the National Institute of Technology, Calicut.  He is working on Operational Modal Analysis of built infrastructures. He is a specialist in Finite Element Modeling and is currently undertaking two major projects in determining the system health of existing bridges. As an upcoming graduate of the OSCAR Lab, Raj is interested to pursue higher academics as a career option. He can be connected through his LinkedIn profile. He is an avid cricket enthusiast.
